The Chamber Chili Chicks won second place at the Myrtle Beach Community Chili Challenge presented by Kroger. The event was held Sept. 17 as part of the 54th Annual World Championship Chili Cookoff at Burroughs & Chapin Pavilion Place in Myrtle Beach.
The team was comprised of captain Shannon Furtick along with Jen Brunson, Cindy Gettig and Sandy Haines.
They earned $1,000 for Substitutes for Santa, an annual event presented by Grand Strand Young Professionals (GSYP) which provides a Christmas experience for 120 children in Horry County.
“We are so thankful they chose to cook for Substitues for Santa,” said Caroline Yahnis, who oversees GSYP. “This money will help us provide an memorable holiday for so many children.”
The Chamber Chili Chicks recipe featured ground turkey, green pepper, onion and celery.
TD Bank is excited to sponsor the chamber’s Educated Voices On Leading and Valuing Equity (EVOLVE) series as we seek ways to better understand and respect one another. We are committed to demonstrating strong and sustained action to support diverse colleagues, customers and communities to contribute to meaningful, measurable change.
