MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.— Grand Strand Young Professionals (GSYP) is pleased to announce Lauren Balogh is the recipient of the organization’s 2023 Young Professional of the Year award and Lydia Hancock is this year’s Ambassador of the Year.
The Young Professional of the Year award is given to a GSYP member who demonstrates community involvement, an aspiration to succeed in the workforce, a desire to positively impact the Grand Strand and is an outstanding advocate for young professionals.
An Ohio native, Balogh has called the Grand Strand home since 2010. She currently works for AWR Court Reporting and Litigation Solutions as a court reporter. Outside of work, she is a board member for SC Smiles Dental and actively involved with St. Michael’s Catholic Church, the Junior League of the Grand Strand and All4Paws. She’s also a member of the 2023 class of ChangeMakers.
Andrew Finch with Corning Credit Union and Kylie Moore of Diamond Shores were also nominated for the Young Professional of the Year award.
The Ambassador of the Year is given to a GSYP member who goes above and beyond in their duties to spread awareness about the organization as well as assisting other GSYP members.
Hancock, the general manager of InfoQuestHR, joined GSYP in 2019 and quickly became involved with the organization as ambassador and steering committee member where she provides invaluable resources for the organization’s members.
Ally Simmons with FirstService Residential was also nominated for Ambassador of the Year.
Both Balogh and Hancock were bestowed with their recognitions during GSYP’s annual awards celebration presented by TD Bank on Jan. 24, 2023, at the Myrtle Beach Train Depot. Additional event sponsors include Walk-On’s and Duplin Winery.
