James Toy Appointed Executive Director of National I-73/74/75 Corridor Association 

James Toy is the new executive director of the National I-73/74/75 Corridor Association. Toy was appointed to the position by the association’s board of directors on May 24 and assumed the role immediately. 

Toy is the public policy manager for Partnership Grand Strand, the nonprofit foundation of Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC). His work for the foundation is focused on improving transportation and infrastructure on the Grand Strand. He is a native of Florida. 

As executive director, Toy plays a supporting role and provides advocacy resources to association members. 

The National I-73/74/75 Corridor Association is a coalition of civic and community leaders from the six corridor states: Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Together, they advocate for the furtherance of this vital national corridor that, when fully constructed, will connect Ontario, Canada to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. 

The association was initially formed in 1993 as the I-73/74 Corridor Association and disbanded in 1999. In 2006, the chamber revived the I-73/74 Corridor Association in conjunction with the I-73 Association. 

A year later, the National I-73/74 association was officially formed and in 2010 Interstate 75 was adopted creating the current iteration of the National I-73/74/75 Corridor Association.
