The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) has earned a 2023 Communication Excellence Award from the Carolinas Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (CACCE) for the 2022 Minority-Owned Business Membership Contest held in partnership with TD Bank.

The award recognizes outstanding communications efforts by chambers of commerce in North and South Carolina and was given on March 30, 2023, during the CACCE Staff Leadership Development Conference in Kitty Hawk, N.C. 

MBACC earned first place in the campaign category for chambers with over 700 members. Entries were judged based on originality, design and quality, and results achieved.

MBACC and TD Bank launched the Minority-Owned Business Membership Contest last year, providing four minority-owned, small businesses in the Myrtle Beach area with chamber memberships.

To qualify for this year’s contest, businesses must be 51 percent or more owned by a minority, marginalized or underrepresented demographic such as: Black or African American, Hispanic, Native American, Asian-Pacific, Subcontinent Asian, Eastern European, woman, LGBTQ, veteran or disabled person. In addition, the business must be located in Horry or Georgetown counties, legally operating for at least one month and cannot be current investors with the chamber.
